Is my basic pay part of BAH?

While at reception. I was told that my basic pay was calculated as part of my BAH. I'm married with dependants.
Now I'm at AIT and I want to fix it ASAP, if there is an issue.
Where should I go?

If you were married at the time you went to reception, you should be getting BAH with Dependents in addition to your base pay. Generally that BAH rate will be based on your home of record since you can't bring your family along to BCT and AIT. This will show on you LES (Leave and Earning Statement). You should be able to tell just by looking at the total pay, as a PVT under 2 years in service, you base income after taxes should be somewhere around $625 twice a month, give or take according to the tax laws in you state of record. BAH is not taxable, so if your check is showing substantially above the $625, you are probably getting it. If you are not, get Drill Instructor to get you in front of the Admin Clerk and get you paperwork corrected. They should back pay you if you didn't get it from the start.

BAH is separate from your Base Pay

What knucklehead made that statement? Finance should fix the situation, and inprocessing should make a correction.
