I don't know. Do you feel it's too late? Only you can make that determination. If you're tired of being the shit bag of the platoon....get off your ass and do something about it.Response by MSG Private RallyPoint Member made Sep 18 at 2020 8:04 PM2020-09-18T20:04:56-04:002020-09-18T20:04:56-04:00Sgt Private RallyPoint Member6323662<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Why are you on this site asking others if it is too late? If you don't want to be "that" soldier, then don't. Be proactive, rather than reactive. If you are still injured and on profile (not sure what you army types call it), then volunteer yourself for everything you can. Make yourself indispensable to your chain, that they will do whatever they have to to keep you, or give you a break until you get back into fighting shape.Response by LT Brad McInnis made Sep 18 at 2020 9:50 PM2020-09-18T21:50:33-04:002020-09-18T21:50:33-04:00CWO4 Private RallyPoint Member6324522<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>It's all a "MINDSET". Looks like you need more than just a regular help. See your military providers to deal with your physical injury and perhaps even depression due to weight gain. TREATMENT IS NOT A SIGN OF WEAKNESS. GO GET HELP WARRIOR!!!Response by CWO4 Private RallyPoint Member made Sep 19 at 2020 7:07 AM2020-09-19T07:07:28-04:002020-09-19T07:07:28-04:00MSgt Private RallyPoint Member6325527<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div><br />Hell no it’s not to late!<br />I have been seriously injured and told I would not be what I was. I did not have the weight gain issue but I was depressed and lost. It took me a year and a half to heel but I got my mind right and was determined to prove I could still be an asset. If you need to reach out for medical support to get your mind in order do it. Do what ever it takes to have the right mindset. Only you can decide if you want to be a contributor or a burden. With the right mindset you can accomplish more than you can possibly vision. If you believe you have more to give to the Army your country and your well being then get it done. Don’t take no for an answer, do what you what to do. Doctors are not always right, you can accomplish more. Good luck and God Bless.<br /><br />CurtResponse by MSgt Private RallyPoint Member made Sep 19 at 2020 1:45 PM2020-09-19T13:45:36-04:002020-09-19T13:45:36-04:00SGM Bill Frazer6325925<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>It's up to you- no one can force you to push yourself. Don't let despair guide your actions. If you want to stay in, get your but on the track, get fit and stop snacking and eating the extra portions at meal time. If your PSG and CO see you making progress they will probably give you a bit of leeway to get your stuff together. <br />Good luck.
