The very term sanctuary implies collusion to protect in this case lawbreakers and illegal ALIENS. These cities have effectively declared themselves outside the laws of our land and defy all federal enforcement efforts with impunity. They are encouraged by elected lawmakers. They are not. They are human beings, elected to their positions. If the citizens (voters) of those cities do not support the "sanctuary" issue, those elected officials would not have their jobs for long.
Conservatives are always calling for less government at the federal level. So, why do they now call for the federal government to override local government?
Let the local voters decide.
