I want to attend a community college and get a certificate in Information Technology. Is it possible to use tuition assistance to pay for the classes?

It is kind of a crappy situation, but you have to wait a year after you graduate AIT. Not sure when you joined but i know that is one limitation of it.

Yes, if he college in question has a working Va rep. Some will even let u use it for cont education cert. Courses.

Go to the education center on post and they will have the info you will need.
