You are still obligated to meet your prior commitment. But there is a process and you never know if you don&#39;t try. But you need to speak tp your career counselor. Turns out that this is aweful. I was wondering if i can do the same 368 process and return to the Guard so long as all requisites are met? I&#39;m 6 months into my 3 year contract. I spoke to the Iowa recruiting department and they said that Active Duty will not release me using the same 368 process, but I keep hearing and seeing otherwise.</p> </div> <div class="clearfix"></div> </div> Response by Sgt Private RallyPoint Member made May 11 at 2022 1:16 PM 2022-05-11T13:16:38-04:00 2022-05-11T13:16:38-04:00 SGM Private RallyPoint Member 7670902 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>No, it is not possible to &quot;switch&quot; from Active Duty to National Guard.<br />If you have already reported to Active Duty, your options to get to the Guard are:<br />1. finish your contract and contract to the Guard, or<br />2. request a hardship discharge to get out early, and possibly get a RE code that requires a waiver to contract to the Guard. Your contract starts the day after you ETS. You can ask a Recruiter and they may give you a 368 Conditional Release, but that means they are a cherry recruiter and don&#39;t know what they are talking about. Not the cup of tea you expected?
