I have a particular situation (as does everyone else) and am looking for information regarding getting married during PCS and GTC travel expenses. The stutation: I am doing a Conus-Conus PCS and will be getting married en route to new duty station. Currently, my orders state no dependents so that means lodging expenses are not authorized, I got that. We will obviously need lodging while we are house-hunting in the area. Here are my few questions regarding this transition:<br /><br />1)Is it possible to have my orders amended to allow dependents once I arrive to my new station? <br /><br />2) Will the amended orders retroactively authorize the above mentioned lodging expenses I have incurred on my GTC?<br /><br />I have read all the &quot;just wait&quot; advice given to everyone else. I appreciate it, but that is just not what will work for us right now. Looking for solid advice on how to make this happen without making mistakes or breaking regulations. Even once you get to your new duty station and add your spouse to your DEERS as a dependent, you were single when you left, so the losing installation cannot amend your orders because at the time you left, you were not authorized.<br />As for recouping lodging expenses, you may be able to. I would call the gaining installation finance first. You won&#39;t be able to do anything until she&#39;s in DEERS. You may have to wait to file the travel voucher until after she&#39;s added. Reference is the Joint Travel Regulations (JTR), first link in Google search for anyone else also needing answers regarding GTC. Thank you for you guidance, I&#39;ve heard horror stories regarding misuse of GTC, would much rather be safe in this instance.
