I send a half-dozen or so a year.<br />If you are in a unit in jump status, most likely they will make you go. 1SG Private RallyPoint Member Sat, 21 Mar 2020 18:29:03 -0400 2020-03-21T18:29:03-04:00 Response by SSG(P) Private RallyPoint Member made Mar 21 at 2020 7:08 PM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/is-it-possible-to-go-to-airborne-school-if-you-are-in-the-reserves?n=5686102&urlhash=5686102 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>It&#39;s possible, although you unit has to have slots. Most times they&#39;ll send only people with high PT scores or if you win Best Warrior Competitions. Getting wings just because they will look cool on my ASUs isn’t a good enough reason. It is a perishable skill that requires constant training to learn how to handle all sorts of situations- AWADS, masstac, slipping away from other jumpers, water, tree or power line landings How exactly do you think you will jump once per quarter in a reserve unit to maintain your status when a lot of your time is spent doing administrative stuff and APFTs? I also don’t see how an airborne qualified soldier would ever remain on the MTOE in a reserve unit. You’d probably have to go AD or AGR first SGT Jeff Bush Sun, 22 Mar 2020 04:47:29 -0400 2020-03-22T04:47:29-04:00 Response by SFC Jeffery Hodgkinson made Mar 22 at 2020 1:02 PM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/is-it-possible-to-go-to-airborne-school-if-you-are-in-the-reserves?n=5688962&urlhash=5688962 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Yes it is possible to go Airborne school. Before I retired there was talk that all 38&#39;s were to be jump certified SFC Jeffery Hodgkinson Sun, 22 Mar 2020 13:02:07 -0400 2020-03-22T13:02:07-04:00 Response by SGT Private RallyPoint Member made Mar 23 at 2020 9:07 AM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/is-it-possible-to-go-to-airborne-school-if-you-are-in-the-reserves?n=5692271&urlhash=5692271 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Anything is possible but just depending on situations. Some units will not send SMs to certain schools unless seating in a slot that requires the school. “Just because” you want to might not always happen.
