Obviously if you reenlist or switch branches the circumstances would be based on that branch, but what if a soldier just wanted to go through Basic Trainning again?
Is it possible to elect to go through training again?
For example, if you're dealing with weight issues, struggling with weapons qual, terrible at land nav, or just overall need to get back down to the basics of being a soldier, could you opt to go through Basic Training again?
We sign papers that say we won't tell other recruits about the training process, so could be do it again if we needed to?

You want to go through again? Go to Drill Sergeant school. That's exactly what it is. Going through basic training while learning how to teach basic training.

A buddy of mine went through a few months ago, and said as much. ironically, he is now a DS in the same training unit we came out of! Good place--or at least an interesting place--to begin one's time on the trail.

Tell him, DO everything to keep that Brown Round. Took to much to earn it.

SFC Michael D. - Better him than me. LOL. Sure, DS stories become legendary, but it seems like such a long, taxing and thankless job. Too many of the Joes I knew who had DS fantasies I think were just wanting to yell at guys and boss them around rather than teach the business of being a soldier.

No you cannot go through Basic again. You can pull up the FMs and equipment and train on you deficiencies. Your NCOs should be ready willing and able to work with you. Tell them you wish to improve your soldiering skills. Thank you for your service.

For the money we have spent on you already, to resend you to BCT because you are having problems cutting the mustard- would be denying a new troop the chance to excel and upgrade the service.
