You will be placed on permissive TDY and you can take terminal leave after.

However, all of that must fit within the last six months and you must complete TAP, including your capstone prior to that. That means you must be able to get there, do the internship, get back, clear, then take leave all within the final six months prior to ETS. You are not authorized to extend for the purpose of a CSPResponse by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made Oct 25 at 2021 11:25 PM2021-10-25T23:25:20-04:002021-10-25T23:25:20-04:00SSgt Christophe Murphy7336174

Is it possible? Absolutely. Is it automatic? No.

You just need to be a squeaky wheel. I know of plenty of folks who did the internship before they took their terminal. I don't know what Job you are trying to do but just remember there are alot of Federal Agencies all over the US that can get you close to home. For example USDA has fields service centers in most counties across the US.

Good Luck.Response by SSgt Christophe Murphy made Oct 26 at 2021 9:03 AM2021-10-26T09:03:33-04:002021-10-26T09:03:33-04:00SFC Michael Hasbun7336315

My last 6 months in the Army are covered by both chargeable (terminal leave) and non chargeable leave (CSP participation).
The answer is yes, but bear in mind, the CSP paperwork explicitly states that YOU are responsible for ALL costs associated with participation in the program, and will not be reimbursed by the Army.Response by SFC Michael Hasbun made Oct 26 at 2021 10:38 AM2021-10-26T10:38:56-04:002021-10-26T10:38:56-04:002021-10-25T23:04:05-04:00
