Is it possible to commission with a Bachelors of Applied Science (Green to Gold)?

So to make a long story short I am currently deployed with the 82nd airborne in Afghanistan and am thinking about trying to get into the green to gold non-scholarship program when I return to garrison in March as I am currently working on my Associates of Applied Science in Information Technology from Purdue Global and am on track to graduate in March. After some research I found that Campbell University about 30 minutes away from FT Bragg offers a Bachelors of Applied Science in Information Technology program which is offered fully online. Theoretically If accepted into the program I might be able to take all my core classes online and take ROTC at the main campus as an elective which would be the best case scenario as I am a resident of North Carolina and only live about an hour from the university. I sent an email to the FT Bragg Green to Gold Adviser who told me I would most likely be eligible for the summer of 2020 semester. So in summary my main questions are:

1. Is it possible to commission with a Bachelors of Applied Science at all being that its a more technical degree.

2. Is it possible to take online classes in addition to ROTC?

3. To anyone who is familiar with the non-scholarship option and the simultaneous membership program how much of the tuition cost do guard benefits actually cover?

4. How to I actually initiate the process and when should I actually apply to the university?

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

I would think that if it’s an accredited degree and ROTC accepts you, that you’d be good to go. Especially since the services are trying to ramp up in the IT Cybersecurity area. That ROTC department should give you the straight scoop, since they would be responsible for your commissioning.

You can only take a certain percentage of classes online. The rest have to be traditional. I’m deployed now so don’t have my references available but check with the ROTC program and they will tell you for sure.

This is real, I got a 2nd bach in math through them when they were part of BY A givt, they then orivatized...they're extremely.svc friendly, well known to the svcs, a friend got his bach In math with them and went Navy PCS using it...they're more expensive now, being private...also, they don't do IT, they have electronic or mechanical tehnology, as well as computer softeare, though they're regionally accredited, that I know for certain...call their toll free phone line, ask for their mil/vet and comp software program ofcs, they're assocs, bach, they had a master's in liberal.we're one could possibly cater toward sciences, though I don't know if they changed it...I only suggest it, as, having done it and known that my friend really did go Navy OCS using it, I know for a fact they're real, honest, OK? I'm not saying you want it, I'm merely suggesting it, that's all, honest, I figured it might be useful, OK?

I do know a good deal about how engrg, comp sci (CS), and IT programs are accredited...if the program is regionally accredited, NOT any other way, AND also accredited by ABET, look them up, they're the entry accreditation board for all such programs in the US, then they're OK, in all liklihood...you should also get your mil transcript from DANTES or American Council on Educ (ACE), and ask ACE about the school...I'm not saying they're not real,.I'm saying to check...Excelsior, as I'd said, them, I know for sure they're real, as well.as they make a really big deal about their relations and acceptance by the svcs, honest, OK?

As long as the degree is accredited, you can go green to gold with a basket weaving degree. Any questions about ROTC should be directed to the respective campus ROTC department. Lastly, GOARMY.com has a lot of information about Green to Gold.

If you have flight interests, this only needs high school, with an assocs, you might well stand a decent chance, I'd thought, though we have a family friend who did it while Army enlisted, he got his bach in aviation at Embry Riddle, then went intersvc to USCG as a rotary wing pilot where he finished his 20 yrs as an O-3...I've heard Army WOCS can be a rough program....

Purely a suggestion, OK? I have an interest in career/Eric threads like yours...the more specifics you relate, grades, GPAs, specific course titles, how much STEM and non-STOP you've done, in a detailed biosketch, the more.I and/or.others in here can generally suggest for you...I get what you want, honest, and, I wasn't prior enlisted, your having been will most definitely help.you adjust if you go commissioned or warrant, a lot faster than I did, I saw that in all the prior enlisted I trained with at USAF OTS, I'd been 3 yrs Army ROTC before that, I wasn't able to finish...I'm not saying don't stay Arny, I'm merely saying I impulsively went in right after my first bach, not knowing what questions to ask, not taking time to research properly, not doing grad school first, I'd wanted the clinical.side...I'm only suggesting all that for.you to give you added persoective...if you want more, I can certainly give you a good deal more, I just figured that'd all be at least a good start for you to.look at, honest, OK?

You can commission with pretty much any degree but with a few exceptions. Regarding online classes, that’s something you need to consult with the school’s ROTC.

1. Talk to your Retention people they should have that info, If not they should know how to get it.
2. the Army has more than just combat arms. Again talk to your retention people that is part of there job. It is just a matter of reclassifying you MOS in witch you will be doing when putting on that Gold bar.
3. You have to talk to the N.C. Guard to get that info.
4.You need to talk to the school on applying and do it as fast as you can. Give them all your info,And questions. Remember it is possible to get get a early release from service to go to college.
I do not know the conditions other than your command has to approve of it. I have seen it happen in the past.
You need to have all your college info ready for your command to look at before they will grant it.
If they do not. Keep your shit together and carry on like every thing is good. If they think you have gotten a bad attitude. It will be bad for you. Keep your head up and carry on.
