As a reservist, one option is to go IRR until I move back to the US in a couple years. I would prefer not to do that if it means I'm ineligible for CCC though. Ideally, I'd also like to change branches for CCC as well but that's a different topic. I haven't had any luck asking around or looking it up. Much thanks in advance. Is it possible to attend CCC while in IRR status?2020-06-22T08:26:47-04:00CPT Private RallyPoint Member6031753<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I'm leaving command soon after recently moving overseas. This may affect your ability to transfer. <a target="_blank" href="https://xtranet/usarc/usarpag/RequiredDocuments/Memorandums/Reassignment_of_AR_TPU_Soldiers_to_the_IRR.pdf">https://xtranet/usarc/usarpag/RequiredDocuments/Memorandums/Reassignment_of_AR_TPU_Soldiers_to_the_IRR.pdf</a><br />According to the HRC website it's not impossible to attend schools while in the IRR, but I found it extremely difficult because there is a lack of "command support". It was hard to a hold of anyone.<br />There are reserve units in Germany, Italy, and Korea - not sure if those would be close enough to travel to for drills …. there is also the option of IMA. IMA is a compact TPU status - they typically have all their drills in one month and you can choose to add on your AT and knock all your yearly training out at one time. <br />FYI- I am aware of at least 3 people that were passed over for promotion just because they were in IRR. I thought it would be less competitive (because you don't need a slot) but I was wrong. Something else to consider if your 2 years falls into your primary zone. <div class="pta-link-card answers-template-image type-default">

Are you looking at doing it Active Duty all at one time? Either way, you career manager is the one to get it moving.Response by CPT Lawrence Cable made Jun 22 at 2020 8:57 AM2020-06-22T08:57:48-04:002020-06-22T08:57:48-04:00CPT Private RallyPoint Member6031943<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I think it’s the 7th Mission Support Command that has TPU slots in Europe. Mostly Germany, if I remember correctly. As for changing branches at CCC, it may be as simple as getting slotted in a position with the desired AOC. Then you should reflect as not “MOSQ.” Then the unit should have the ability to submit the ATRRS application for the required schooling on your behalf.Response by CPT Private RallyPoint Member made Jun 22 at 2020 9:55 AM2020-06-22T09:55:58-04:002020-06-22T09:55:58-04:00LTC John Mohor6032005<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>You’ve received some excellent guidance here on attending CCC. On the branch change find a slot in a unit with some promotion potential ie reserve wise I’d strongly encourage Logistics(OD, QM or TC advance courses will help you get there. The online versions are the way to go especially if your already done in your current one. Get the CCC completed first is fine. reserve wise more MOS is better even for us Officers. I started out FA commanded before my advanced course I did CCC before my official branch transfer went into effect.Response by LTC John Mohor made Jun 22 at 2020 10:35 AM2020-06-22T10:35:53-04:002020-06-22T10:35:53-04:00SFC Michael Hasbun6032162<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>What funding code would be used to pay for all the expenses?Response by SFC Michael Hasbun made Jun 22 at 2020 11:35 AM2020-06-22T11:35:29-04:002020-06-22T11:35:29-04:002020-06-22T08:26:47-04:00
