Is it possible for an IED made out of a SODA CAN to take down an Entire Russian Plane?

I have seen my share of IED's in Training. Never one like this. Is this kind of IED Powerful enough to take down a Russian Plane?

a soda can packed with the equivalent of C4, remote wired with the blasting cap and reciever pictured to set it off - I could see how that could blow a hole outwards in a pressurized cabin. I'm not EOD or an explosives expert by any means though.

I am in no way an expert on IEDs or Airplane construction, but I believe if you place it in the food service area near the cockpit it will make a whole in the fuselage large enough to be created even larger by the change in cabin pressure at high altitude and could easily take out the plane not to mention what it could possibly do to the cockpit controls themselves. Perhaps I’ve seen too many Tom Clancy movies, but that’s my opinion.

SPC Andrew Griffin Richard Reid, the infamous "Shoe Bomber" (2001) had only 10 ounces of explosives in his shoes. I would venture a guess that you could fit somewhat more into a 12 ounce soda can. Ten ounces of explosive, however, would be enough to cause a rupture in the fuselage of an aircraft, with explosive decompression likely finishing the job.

I have seen a coffee can size IED rip through an up armored vehicle. It is like breaching a door, only this one is pressurized.

Yes. Even with a primitive explosive like black powder. proper placement of the explosive device can be devastating. Think about it this way. a m-60 firecracker is just a firecracker, and makes a bang when it goes off, and it's not very powerful. Now, if you make a fist around that m-60, and lite the fuse, you have just obliterated your hand. Same thing goes for the above described IED. If place in a strategic location like the fuel line, control panel, engine, etc, it can be devastating to the functionality of the aircraft.
