<p class="pta-link-card-description">Why does the Active Component have the DD214 and the National Guard have the NGB Form 22, but the Army Reserve does not have a form showing service after they got out of the guard. For example, A Reserve Soldier could go to Basic and AIT, they would get a DD214 after training, then spent the next 19 years drilling and then when they retire, there is no form to show how long they spent in the Reserve and what awards and type of discharge/ RE...</p>

While the Reserves do not give DD 214's, they do give Orders of Discharge. I know this because 2 of my Soldiers from my last unit received them when they were discharged. If you received no papers of any kind, I would recommend you get back on the phone and call some people (your 1SG and Commander) to get some answers.Response by MSG Private RallyPoint Member made Jan 16 at 2018 1:21 PM2018-01-16T13:21:41-05:002018-01-16T13:21:41-05:00SSG Trevor S.3263162<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>For some reason, I think there is way more to this story.Response by SSG Trevor S. made Jan 16 at 2018 2:13 PM2018-01-16T14:13:52-05:002018-01-16T14:13:52-05:00COL Charles Williams3264551<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div><a class="dark-link bold-link" role="profile-hover" data-qtip-container="body" data-id="1433829" data-source-page-controller="question_response_contents" href="/profiles/1433829-12n-horizontal-construction-engineer">PFC Private RallyPoint Member</a> Sounds strange to me... If you have any TA-50 that you haven't turned in expect it to be collected from your taxes in a year or two, or you could drive to the unit and get a turn in document (you'll need proof) If you want a copy of your discharge orders the unit may be kind enough to print one off for you, if not the VA office can get you a copy.Response by MAJ Private RallyPoint Member made Jan 17 at 2018 4:22 PM2018-01-17T16:22:31-05:002018-01-17T16:22:31-05:00Sgt Charles Welling3267090<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I would not worry about the phone call, I would worry about the reasons you gave the Army to discharge you under such circumstances.Response by Sgt Charles Welling made Jan 17 at 2018 4:33 PM2018-01-17T16:33:09-05:002018-01-17T16:33:09-05:00Sgt Dale Briggs3270747<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Why not just call your unit First Sgt, he's the quickest way to figure shit out, and he can move a mountain with a few phone calls if its not at his fingertips.
