SPC Private RallyPoint Member 3636637 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>my buddy is currently past his speration date from his medboard and still doesnt have a dd214 and they are taking his time getting it to him. he has no income from the army and cant get a job beacuse of not having a dd214. and IG and army legal says he cant use their services since he is past his seperation date. the unit is also trying to make him pay for $6,000 for lost gear even though it was stolen and the unit supply says they dont have the old flipl and opened a new one so the 1SG and battery commander doesnt have to pay for it. its been over a year and half since they had the old flipl. is there anything that he can do? thank you for your time. Is it legal to separate someone through a med board and then not provide them with a DD214? 2018-05-17T15:31:11-04:00 SPC Private RallyPoint Member 3636637 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>my buddy is currently past his speration date from his medboard and still doesnt have a dd214 and they are taking his time getting it to him. he has no income from the army and cant get a job beacuse of not having a dd214. and IG and army legal says he cant use their services since he is past his seperation date. the unit is also trying to make him pay for $6,000 for lost gear even though it was stolen and the unit supply says they dont have the old flipl and opened a new one so the 1SG and battery commander doesnt have to pay for it. its been over a year and half since they had the old flipl. is there anything that he can do? thank you for your time. Paperwork is always key on equipment. He needs to look through every single thing he has and see if he has copies of that FILPL. <br /><br />Now the DD214 is a separate issue. When you medboard process out of the military, and I know this for a fact as I went through the process, the last stop that you make before you are officially out of the military is a stop at the DEERS office to sign your DD214 and leave. This is my question, was your buddy active duty? If not, he is not going to get a DD214. If he was active duty and completed his separation then there is absolutely no reason why he shouldn&#39;t have gotten a DD214. I&#39;m thinking that someone is, for lack of a better phrase, &quot;full of shit&quot;.
