With all the people going around yelling stolen valor your lack of any unit insignia could cause an asshole to start poking his nose where it doesn't belong. Also its just easier, don't have to worry about TRADOC folks hemming you up, and more importantly you can have a beer! Just change at your duty station to formally report.Response by SPC David Willis made Jan 3 at 2018 9:55 AM2018-01-03T09:55:09-05:002018-01-03T09:55:09-05:00Lt Col Jim Coe3222232<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>You generally are authorized to wear your Service uniform (ASU) at any place and time not prohibited by regulation. Make sure your uniform is in good condition and your behavior reflects professionalism and you'll be okay. <br /><br />I don't like seeing military personnel traveling aboard commercial flights in their work or combat uniforms. I believe it's authorized these days, but I'm old school and think the Service uniform looks better.Response by Lt Col Jim Coe made Jan 3 at 2018 12:35 PM2018-01-03T12:35:07-05:002018-01-03T12:35:07-05:00LTC Private RallyPoint Member3230010<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I travel in uniform only when I am going start to work after landing. Your still reporting and presenting your orders. As far as the actual traveling goes wear what you want, no one cares to a point. No AC/DC shirts I suppose.Response by Sgt Dale Briggs made Jan 5 at 2018 8:08 PM2018-01-05T20:08:43-05:002018-01-05T20:08:43-05:00SPC Private RallyPoint Member3232058<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>It is authorized. Is it appropriate? For travel I would say no but I have done it myself. I’ve been the super hooah private before so use best judgement. If you report during duty hours on a duty day, I would report in uniform, but travel how you like.Response by SPC Private RallyPoint Member made Jan 6 at 2018 12:43 PM2018-01-06T12:43:44-05:002018-01-06T12:43:44-05:00SSG Darrell Peters3232987<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Before 911 I remember the days when you had to travel in Class A or Class B Uniform.Response by SSG Darrell Peters made Jan 6 at 2018 6:29 PM2018-01-06T18:29:33-05:002018-01-06T18:29:33-05:002018-01-02T15:33:49-05:00
