As in, are the majority of the people attending this class going to be veterans? If so, it may seem a bit redundant, as they would be acknowledging themselves. Perhaps I'm misunderstanding the target group of the class?Response by SSgt Private RallyPoint Member made May 15 at 2017 4:40 PM2017-05-15T16:40:58-04:002017-05-15T16:40:58-04:00Vikki Nicometo2571095<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Thank you to RP staff or whoever kindly reworded my cumbersome question. :)Response by Vikki Nicometo made May 15 at 2017 4:45 PM2017-05-15T16:45:33-04:002017-05-15T16:45:33-04:00PO1 William "Chip" Nagel2571871<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div><a class="dark-link bold-link" role="profile-hover" data-qtip-container="body" data-id="223350" data-source-page-controller="question_response_contents" href="/profiles/223350-vikki-nicometo">Vikki Nicometo</a> Works for Me but also be aware and sensitive that Some Vets are dealing with Issues and Personal Demons and may not really want to be "Acknowledged".Response by PO1 William "Chip" Nagel made May 15 at 2017 10:01 PM2017-05-15T22:01:50-04:002017-05-15T22:01:50-04:00SCPO Private RallyPoint Member2573184<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Public recognition is that ONE thing that military pay and per diem does not and will never cover. It's that one intangible that says this person, these people have put it all on the line for us. And they had no idea whom most of us were, but still they stood up and served without question. Yes, it is appropriate, always has been and always will be.Response by SCPO Private RallyPoint Member made May 16 at 2017 12:07 PM2017-05-16T12:07:40-04:002017-05-16T12:07:40-04:00CAPT Kevin B.2579966<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Had to chuckle thinking about the potential research topic when asking the question. You can also tally the number of Snowflakes who scurry off to their safe rooms knowing that these people might have learned to kill, might have PTSD, or might even have a spine. I've been in situations where Vets were asked to stand. Always a pang of discomfort as I don't like being the object of attention. But that is outweighed by wanting to stand with my shipmates. BTW, there should be a bump in the Vet demographic in this type of class as we tend to be more interested as a group in helping other Vets. I remember the days ('Nam Era) where Vets would never stand. We're in a positive receptive period culturally now. That too is likely to shift back. Vet support ebbs and flows just like anything else.Response by CAPT Kevin B. made May 18 at 2017 2:55 PM2017-05-18T14:55:00-04:002017-05-18T14:55:00-04:00Bradley Ortloff2729227<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>why are you trying to embarrass them?Response by Bradley Ortloff made Jul 14 at 2017 12:38 AM2017-07-14T00:38:51-04:002017-07-14T00:38:51-04:002017-05-15T16:18:39-04:00
