That said, I personally think that Oathkeepers are a little "tin foil hat-ish". Jus sayin ;) haha

But seriously I do wonder where folks get the time and energy to put into something so far reaching. I'm all for liberty and constitutional rights I just don't need to join a group to do it. We will NOT obey orders to impose martial law or a “state of emergency” on a state.
5. We will NOT obey orders to invade and subjugate any state that asserts its sovereignty.
6. We will NOT obey any order to blockade American cities, thus turning them into giant concentration camps.
7. We will NOT obey orders to assist or support the use of any foreign troops on U.S. soil against the American people to “keep the peace” or to “maintain control."
9. As a servicemember we should all know that being asked to do any of those things is unlawful under either the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, or the Posse Comitatus Act. But if joining a group to remind yourself of that is what you need I don't think there will be an issue under UCMJ SGT James Elphick Tue, 18 Nov 2014 13:25:56 -0500 2014-11-18T13:25:56-05:00 Response by SSgt Mike Conway made Sep 21 at 2020 11:22 PM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/is-it-against-the-ucmj-to-become-a-member-of-the-oathkeepers?n=6333131&urlhash=6333131

I had a longer reply but decided against that. That you are asking the question shows that you are not sure of this group. Personally, I would steer clear of them as I find some of there declarations to be questionable. I do not question the research that went into what they are telling you but rather that they may not be telling the full story. The military has been used in the past to preserve the Union and that is a precedent that has been set. We are not treading any new grounds today that were not walked my our forefathers. We just need to tread carefully... SSgt Mike Conway Mon, 21 Sep 2020 23:22:07 -0400 2020-09-21T23:22:07-04:00 2014-11-13T07:31:38-05:00
