Is ISIS executing a genocidal agenda with their destruction of cultural and religious sites?

ISIS has now destroyed multiple sites throughout the Middle East, almost stealing a page from the Taliban in Afghanistan. Does this signal a genocidal agenda? (Check article on destruction of Monastery in Mosul - St. Elijah's Monastery)

One of the goals of ISIS is to eliminate apostates and religious sects they deem undesirable. Having served in northern Iraq in 2004-05, I saw firsthand many minority groups that had been living quietly and peacefully for centuries while history passed them by. The Yazidi and Chaldean Christians are fairly widely publicized, but lesser known are communities that worship Assyrian gods, follow the teachings of John the Baptist, Sufis, and Zoastrians. All have been aggressively persecuted by ISIS, and all are being wiped out and with them, some very interesting history and heritage.

Yes, they want to get rid of anything dealing with Christians, Jews, and weak middle eastern people.
