Is anyone familiar with the warrior training rehabilitation program (WTRP) at Fort Leonard Wood? https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/is-anyone-familiar-with-the-warrior-training-rehabilitation-program-wtrp-at-fort-leonard-wood

My husband is in ait at FLW right now and has been injured for a couple months now and still isn’t able to pass a APFT. They want to send him to the WTRP to get him fixed and send him to his unit but he’s also heard he could take a chapter 13. He’s on the fence about whether he wants to just get out or keep going. He’s mentally exhausted from being pushed around. My oldest son was injured during basic at Jackson and went through the program there and went on to do well at his AIT and subsequent permanent party units. Spent weeks taking it easy. It was still structured, but there was plenty of down time. I remember most everyone who was in there with me... a lot of good soldiers.

I remember one guy who went off post and got this huge skull and beret tattoo on his chest. He was only a few weeks into basic, and got injured. He got the tattoo while in PTRP. He ended up getting chaptered out of PTRP. Lol... I don't think he was really about the Army life. At least he's got a pretty big tattoo to remember his month or so worth of service.

It was too easy.

I get being mentally exhausted, but most everything looks better in hindsight. I say embrace the suck. I love the life/ family/ travel/ culture that the military has provided me. However, if his heart is not in it, then don't. Why do anything if you don't really want to do it? I imagine that this won't be the last time that he will be "mentally exhausted" from the Army.
