Comrade Oh its tough alright! But, suspense any blame game (not saying your doing it) and like SrA Eddie V. blanket the hell out of the job market with your resumes, job fairs is a must, check in with your local VFW and American Legion Organizations they are great for local connections, be open to change your location as your qualification and skills may not be available in your area. I swear to you I had applied to over 100 jobs on https://www.usajobs.gov/ then after 8 months nailed the TSA position (entry level of course), did not settle with that Permanent Part-Time Position... then a new good friend working at TSA hooked me up with my second part time job with the New Hampshire Court Houses (great job but for Per Diem only).
I continued looking for the "Dream Job" and then applied to 40 plus overseas schools without joining an overseas recruiting firm as well as applied for several local teaching position in my hometown... PURE HELL for 2 years of beating the bushes... TSA was not the greatest job but it helped me wake up daily and reminded me where I really needed to be career wise... I then joined http://www.searchassociates.com/Job-Fairs/Default.aspx paid the okay amount (fee) and then applied for 12 key positions an within months 8 replied back - I chose the 1 position in Taiwan and I am on my 2nd year about to renew my contract - life is once again GREAT! But... it took me leaving the USA - at this point I don't care, I gave it more than enough chances. Another disadvantage I had... 50 years old (CPO John Regan said it too) plus a Masters degree... cost to hire me in the school system with the systems limited budget makes me too expensive to hire... BOTTOM LINE - DON'T GIVE UP or GIVE IN!!!
