I did get a letter from the IRS saying that someone had used my SSN to try to get a copy of all my tax documents. I called and a pin was waiting for me. I get credit monitoring for 3 years.
2 days ago my bank sent an email asking if my wife had changed her email. She did not. She got a letter today to get credit monitoring for 3 years.
Then we have to buy it for the rest of our lives....THANKS OPM!!!!!!
How the heck did someone let them hack 21.5 MILLION security clearances, after they had already hacked 4.5 million??????????????????? How many bureaucrats have been FIRED????????????????????Response by LTC Christopher Sands made Oct 8 at 2015 7:22 PM2015-10-08T19:22:45-04:002015-10-08T19:22:45-04:00CPT Private RallyPoint Member1027539

LTC Christopher Sands I posted a thread some time ago about removing yourself from the web. It contained links and instructions on how to. Every time you make the request for removal from public records or web site, you need to let them know in the reason category that your information was hacked.Response by CPT Private RallyPoint Member made Oct 8 at 2015 8:53 PM2015-10-08T20:53:21-04:002015-10-08T20:53:21-04:00Sgt Spencer Sikder1027612

It never ceases to amaze me that we throw billions at our programs and it's the simplest things that destroy these efforts. Apparently without having a visa, I get to travel Air Istanbul and Air Afghanistan at a cost of $1,000+. Fortunately MasterCard credited my account and changed my number.Response by Sgt Spencer Sikder made Oct 8 at 2015 9:23 PM2015-10-08T21:23:26-04:002015-10-08T21:23:26-04:00CPT Mark Gonzalez1239726

I'm upset in the way it was handled. Offering identity protection won't fix the issue in 20 years as my finger prints, social and other info will still be up for sell.
The Chinese government should be punished monetarily for this and the individuals impacted should be financially compensated. It is outrageous that we cannot bring a class action lawsuit for this. I've been hacked so many times now it is ridiculous, but for my finger prints and info about my family to be stolen crosses the line even for crooks.Response by CPT Mark Gonzalez made Jan 16 at 2016 12:12 PM2016-01-16T12:12:52-05:002016-01-16T12:12:52-05:002015-10-08T19:18:16-04:00
