There's like 50 units in hood. Probably go to replacement and get a unit assigned from there. Unless you got pinpoint orders somehow.Response by SSG Private RallyPoint Member made Mar 6 at 2016 9:32 PM2016-03-06T21:32:34-05:002016-03-06T21:32:34-05:00SSG Nathan Bryant1359817

More often than not, when Soldiers PCS to a new duty station, they will initially report to a Replacement or Welcome Center. It is from there that they are further assigned. You could be assigned to a Division, who would further assign you to one of its Brigades, who would further assign you to one of its Battalions, then to Company element. Even within a Company, you will be further assigned to a Platoon and Squad or Section.

There are a few exceptions to this normal process and they include Leaders or other personnel who are assigned to key positions such as Commanders on any level, Command Sergeants Major, and First Sergeants among others. They would already know where they will be going.

It is possible for you to be assigned to a specific unit, also. But, you wouldn't know until you see your actual orders.

I'm curious - why do you suggest 64th MP Company?Response by SSG Nathan Bryant made Mar 6 at 2016 10:02 PM2016-03-06T22:02:34-05:002016-03-06T22:02:34-05:00SSG Private RallyPoint Member1459056

When do you report I just left there as the Supply SGTResponse by SSG Private RallyPoint Member made Apr 16 at 2016 9:58 PM2016-04-16T21:58:58-04:002016-04-16T21:58:58-04:002016-03-06T21:30:22-05:00
