Is 42A available for prior service, being that it’s close to the end of the year? https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/is-42a-available-for-prior-service-being-that-it-s-close-to-the-end-of-the-year <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>So from my understanding of re-enlisting as a glossary prior service I have to pick my job at MEPS. I was wondering if 42A could possibly be available being that it’s close to the end of the year? Also would I have the option to wait if I wanted that job or would I just have to pick from what’s available at the time? My line scores are GT 114 CL 111 CO 102 EL 103 FA 103 GM 101 MM 096 OF 102 SC 104 ST 106. TIA! You didn’t complete IET. What’s your RE code. What’s your 3 letter? More MOSs tend to open in new fiscal year (Oct). Good luck. You will go to needs of the military and your options on MOS will be curtailed as you are not a fresh recruit. You can always hold out for a job that you want but there is no guarantee you will get it. SSG Brian G. Your separation wil distaste your re-entry. As I tell all those who are attempting re-entry, those recruits who are fresh with no prior issue will likely be selected ahead of those who have had issues. Only your recruiter can state exactly where you stand as we do not have all of the facts. Speak to your recruiter.
