We can absolutely trust Iran. 100%. To act in its own interest. Our problem comes when we think we are so slick that we will convince others not to do so because persuasion.

Russia and Iran have always had fairly normalized relations despite the sanctions. That's why I've been saying the new deal is the ONLY way forward. Russia and China have made it no secret they're done with them.

That said, no, we can't "trust" Iran any more than Iran can trust us. Iran will do what Iran wants, just like every other nation on the planet.

It is outrageous to think we could ever trust Iran again! I was a young Army specialist during the Iranian Hostage Crisis. That fiasco should have taught us a lesson, but apparently some beauracrats have forgotten. Remember, Mohammed taught, and encouraged, lying to your enemy in order to gain advantage is completely acceptable.

Soleimani was doing a very predictable activity, he just jumped the gun on breaking the travel ban. He was going shopping for a place to spend all of that money we are unfreezing from Iranian accounts. No doubt with a destination in mind.
Now that the administration has charted a course, I don't think we will have long to wait to find out what Iran will do.
