I ask what is more valuable, a 24 year old graduate with a MBA and zero experience or a CSM who's managed hundreds to thousands of people and millions of dollars in assets?</p><p>Another example is to do the exact same job that I currently do as a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, I need a masters degree to do the civilian equivalent that works here in the hospital with me and he's a GS13. We do the exact same thing. Once I get out of the Army all of a sudden I dont qualify.</p><p>I think we put way too much emphasis on that peice of paper as opposed to putting the best "qualified" folks in the positions.</p><p>Go onto USA Jobs and take a look at the requirements. You will see MANY jobs that are military jobs that some SSG is doing somehwere else, but to do it as a GS employee you need a degree in this or that.
