In response to a recent post about what has happened to RallyPoint recently, I propose the creation of a Troll Badge. Yes or No?

With some of the vitriol lately, a lot of members (myself included) have found ourselves having to block members. Topics such as religion, politics, and Trump seem particularly attractive to behavior in violation of RP policy and downright abusive to member who dare to disagree.

As an NCO, I was taught to offer up a solution, so I submit for your review the "Troll Badge". If a member violates RP rules for offensive posts, uses excessive profanity (especially directed at a member), or goes on a retaliatory down-vote rampage, they can be nominated for the "Troll Badge" which would appear next to their name for a month, warning all who see it not to feed their need for attention and self-righteousness. I think some public shaming would do a lot to curtail bad behavior on the site.
As an option, I would like to see it deduct 500 points from their influence total as a type of fine for their infamy.

Works for me, altrhough I have never had to block anyone personally. There are several I ignore for self-preservation though.

Yes but is clear who is judge, there would be some second solution or penalty like in hockey, in sport we have many examples.

So are we against some thought provoking conversation? Ok, sounds good, maybe Paul Revere should have never taken that midnight ride, George Washington crossing the Delaware. We'll just pack it all up and let the radicals have it. But not me and Veterans like me will speak our minds and fight. My Oath has no expiration date.

I love RallyPoint, don't get me wrong, but lately I have found myself being turned off this site by bashing threads and equally bashing commentary. It is such a sad thing to see, I used to enjoy coming here....

Public shaming and troll badges? That's scary. Some people have an intellectually deminished approch to discussion but I wouldn't want to see them labeled...let's not judge each other and keep sharing.

I'm a VERY new member on here, so I offer a VERY inexperienced opinion. It seems that when a a "discussion" is opened up in this forum, respect must be given the top priority. In the military as well as, Corporate America offensive reactions are inappropriate and rarely tolerated. I believe as a group that sets the bar for so many others, we should first and foremost, always show respect to each other.
