In order to be a technical warrant officer do you have to be an E5 or E6?

Look A Warrant (Tech) is suppose to be the most competent, smartest know it all in that MOS. I seriously doubt that anybody under the rank of SFC/MSG would fit the bill in KNOWING everything in their MOS. Suggest you google it or ask a recruiter.

Warrant requires that you have attended ALC for your MOS. Each MOS is allowed to set its own prerequisites and there are times when an MOS is critically under filled and they may waive that. Not usually though, and not most MOSs.

check the warrant officer recruitment page for your job it will let you know requirements. But with that being said master your craft before you think of going warrant
