Now it’s personal, not policy differences. As for why two major parties, due to citizen choices and eliminate fringe parties.Response by MCPO Roger Collins made Aug 13 at 2018 5:33 PM2018-08-13T17:33:32-04:002018-08-13T17:33:32-04:00TSgt David Holman3878310<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Part of the problem are the 24 hour news sources. There are only so many things that happen in a 24 hour period. If you ever take the time to watch either CNN/FOX/MSNBC, take your pick (take time to look at all three), you'll notice that the majority of what is being passed as "news" is analysis of the story with a spin in their given political parties direction. The problem here is that many people don't think critically, and don't see how this is causing a rip. Now politicians, instead of focusing on what is best for the nation, are focusing on what is best for their party, and how it pushes their agenda. <br /><br />There are plenty of us who are in a gray area. I am happily one of those myself. I lean conservative, if anything, but believe more in doing what is right for our people.Response by TSgt David Holman made Aug 13 at 2018 8:58 PM2018-08-13T20:58:38-04:002018-08-13T20:58:38-04:00Maj John Bell3878659<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Because it is easier than prioritizing the issues for oneself, and putting in the time into determining which candidate positions overall best represent the persons political desires.Response by Maj John Bell made Aug 13 at 2018 11:46 PM2018-08-13T23:46:49-04:002018-08-13T23:46:49-04:00MSG Stan Hutchison3881036<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I see a variety of "reasons" posted here, but they don't face the reality of the situation. How do we decide when a bill is put on the floor for a vote? Answer that and you will see why we have parties. It is decided by the Speaker of the House. And, how do we chose the Speaker? It is, and always has been, along party lines. At least for the last 100 or so Congresses. Can we change that? Perhaps. But, that would take what? Action by Congress. And who determines what Congress considers? I repeat myself.Response by MSG Stan Hutchison made Aug 14 at 2018 9:35 PM2018-08-14T21:35:59-04:002018-08-14T21:35:59-04:00MSG Stan Hutchison3881044<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>deleted by meResponse by MSG Stan Hutchison made Aug 14 at 2018 9:38 PM2018-08-14T21:38:27-04:002018-08-14T21:38:27-04:002018-08-13T16:51:51-04:00
