I know a lot of the time you don't get to pick the role you are given but which is better to advance my career, I would rather be a PLT. SGT. as it would put me back in with the soldiers.

I would say both are good but I would employ a 1/3, 2/3 rule. 2/3s of your job should be green tabbing it and the other technical. You need a good balance to remain diverse. However, even though you are in QC and think you have limited leadership opportunities I challenge you with this. Seek out duties that will set you apart from your peers. For example, run ranges, lead NCOPDs, develop tools to help other leaders (standardized leader book), SHARP, EO, Battalion UPL, win a NCO of the Year Competition. As a Staff NCO I had to get creative throughout my career. Doing those things help a lot and when it was time to be in charge of 20, 30, 176, and now 400+ Soldiers I was prepared.
