There was a &quot;Large Cent&quot; (about the size of a quarter, give or take). There&#39;s also the &quot;Small Cent&quot; which is the size that one cent pieces are made, today. To make the half cent, the same ratios of sizes would be applied to the new sizes. The original half cent was about the size of a nickel. So, the new half cent would be about 16 millimeters (somewhat smaller than a dime).
