All we've heard from either side is more of why they're right and the other side is wrong.

Until somebody other than the lunatic fringe of both major parties develops a strong enough base and a coherent comprehensive plan for improving our situation which is based on common sense along with some solid moral core values instead of political pandering & greed, we will continue to suffer the increasingly dysfunctional environment we see to today regardless of who the president is. The silent majority will continue to be trampled by the vocal special interest minority. The GOP (and I was a registered republican until 2000) has alienated too many to win national or even most statewide elections. To be perfectly blunt, we have no way of saying if the next person to be elected as President will be any better or any worse than the person leaving that office. It's all a crazy cycle. Every four years, Americans gather around and beat their chests and say "This person will make it better." 1, 2, 3 years later, those same people are saying "How can we fix this idiot's mistakes". You don't have to look far back in history to see examples of this. People were so excited to see G.W. Bush leave the White House and people cheered when Obama was elected. Now, 1.5 terms into his time as President, some of the same people that cheered are now yelling. There hasn't been anyone so far that has really made big news. Now I'm assuming that will change come closer to the end of next year. But as of right now I think that people have candidates in mind who they would like to see run for office, personally I've heard of Gen. Mattis, Gov Christie, VP Biden, Senator Rand Paul and of course Hilary but I think it's too early to tell. I think the nation definitely needs positive change but I think that the majority of the change needs to come from the Congress which seems very divided on party lines. I think our nation's best bet is to find a strong leader that can find a way to reunite the Congress to where things get done in a reasonable amount of time. 1LT Private RallyPoint Member Wed, 09 Jul 2014 21:09:12 -0400 2014-07-09T21:09:12-04:00 Response by Sgt S.P.
