In 2 years we'll be preparing to elect a new President. Do you think our next President will be better or worse than our current one?

Just like the stock market, past performance doesn't predict future earnings.

The unfortunate reality is that neither of the two predominate political parties has offered up a candidate who is the least bit interested in finding solutions to our problems. All we've heard from either side is more of why they're right and the other side is wrong.
Until somebody other than the lunatic fringe of both major parties develops a strong enough base and a coherent comprehensive plan for improving our situation which is based on common sense along with some solid moral core values instead of political pandering & greed, we will continue to suffer the increasingly dysfunctional environment we see to today regardless of who the president is. The silent majority will continue to be trampled by the vocal special interest minority.

It will be a democrat, regardless of your personal position. The GOP (and I was a registered republican until 2000) has alienated too many to win national or even most statewide elections.

yes and no. If the Dems keep screwing up (whether that is perception or reality) at the rate they are going, you will see a shift. Now if GOP wins, they will need to show real results or they won't be able to hold it beyond one term.

It comes down to Ohio, VA, North Carolina and FL. The GOP is losing ground in every battleground state.

I was a republican majority of my life, it was only recently that I decided to switch to the Democratic party (moderate) - While I would love to list independent as my true stance - that is a moot point in U.S. politics. Intolerance and greed are what drive the GOP and those are some of the things humans despise most. They seek only what benefits them and disregard the public as a whole.
As for the original question, there is no telling what will happen - worldwide events continue to cause great concern and there is a lot of volatility in the world. Both geographic borders are being disputed by sovereign nations and the continuing income disparity is causing more concern for public uprising to quell the current trend of rich getting richer and poor getting poorer. Time is the test that our future president will face - and with the forecast on the screen - it doesn't look too good for anyone who steps up to the plate.
