Have you left the car alone for 15 minutes and then tried again. It sounds like it is flooded.

No spark due to a:
bad crank position sensor,
a faulty ignition module,
a problem in the ignition circuit (ignition switch, antitheft system, wiring, etc.),
a faulty park/neutral safety switch, a bad ignition coil (only on engines with a single coil ignition),
wet plugs or plug wires (did it rain last night, did you just wash the engine?)
a worn starter that draws so many amps while cranking the engine that there’s not enough juice left to adequately power the ignition system and fuel injectors

No fuel due to a:
bad fuel pump relay,
blown fuel pump fuse,
plugged or cut fuel filter or line,
failed PCM injector driver circuit or injector power supply relay.
fuel tank empty (faulty fuel gauge)
contaminated fuel

No compression due to a
Broken or jumped timing belt
Snapped overhead camshaft

I had similar problem once. Turned out to be a coolant temp sensor. The ECM did not know how cold the engine really was because the sensor was saying it was -20 degrees. So to counter the cold ECM was flooding the engine out. Put in new temp sensor and she hasn't had a problem starting since.

All wrong if it has injection system diesel engine doesn't have spark plugs it has injectors or glow plugs as far as I know the military went all diesel . I retired in 2010. Active folks let him know.

Sounds like you may not be getting spark. Is check engine light on? Have you checked codes?
