If you were to retire or ets from the service would you live in the area of the installation where you served?

I would have love to have stayed either in the area of Fort Drum, NY or back home in Columbus, Georgia, my ultimate preference would be Columbus for any number of reasons. First and foremost it is my hometown, and the weather is much better than it is at Fort Drum. So lets hear it people, any comments?

I think the answer to this depends entirely on where I want to work after I get out. I probably won't wind up near a military base when I retire because I will be seeking employment in corporate America. I am still years away from that point, so obviously there is a lot left in the air. Bottom line is I will go wherever I find a decent job and is a good place to raise a family. It could very well be next to a military installation.

I want to move back to the Philadelphia area but in reality it depends on where I can find a good job.
