My father was stationed there. That place I can still remember. I have a sister buried in Barstow. We were also at Fort Knox and Ft. Ord, but do not have any recollections of eitther, to young I guess. But I recall not liking the California desert. 1SG Private RallyPoint Member Fri, 01 May 2015 17:41:02 -0400 2015-05-01T17:41:02-04:00 Response by 2LT Private RallyPoint Member made Oct 8 at 2015 2:20 PM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/if-you-were-a-military-brat-what-was-your-best-or-worst-place-you-lived?n=1026678&urlhash=1026678 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I enjoyed living on infantry or training posts growing up as a military brat because it actually felt like the military. They typically seemed to have larger communities with more things to do and people to meet on post. It's when you start looking for things to do and people to meet off post when the trouble starts. For some reason, it seems that Army posts are always located near sketchy communities with a bunch of strip clubs located just outside. Schofield Barracks '87-'93 was my favorite as a military brat. 2LT Private RallyPoint Member Thu, 08 Oct 2015 14:20:21 -0400 2015-10-08T14:20:21-04:00 2015-05-01T13:17:01-04:00
