If you separated before retirement, did you achieve the desired end state?

Granted this is a personal decision. There are many reasons for one to separate after fulfilling their obligation: ready to move on, start a business, better pay, be close to home/family, no deployments, etc. I am curious to know if you are satisfied with the decision to separate and if you would make the same decision again given what you now know.

When I got out the first time in 1999 the answer was yes and I truly was enjoying it.

While I am in now, I DO have a 1 year separation from service. I completed my first 8 year obligation and got out. Missed the money (I was traditional guard at the time, so the 150$ extra every month was nice), but I also missed the "belonging". I got back in.
