Yes? Maybe once? Could be habit forming? No way? Just curious? Why or why not? Now, if your neighbor is doing it and flourishing while you live the American dream (min wage, mid low level mgmt., hoping the next 40 years and your 401K treat you well forty years from now. Report him or join him?

I don't know what the oath you took, said, but I consider the Marine Corps oath to be about honor as well as respect, loyalty, and integrity. My opinion: whatever "choice" you make you just need to be able to accept/pay any consequences which may arise from it (good or bad).

Got a hot stock tip form an old friend, it didn't turn out well. Fortunately didn't loose a lot of money and we remained friends. Haven't jumped on a hot tip since.

Thanks for all the answers. It was totally hypothetical, but the responses were reassuring. I would not. It's akin to building a house on shifting sand rather than bedrock for me.

There are no free lunches out there. Insider trading is illegal. Potential payoff is not worth the risk. Figure out what you're good at and put in the work.
