That is a good EVAL and it shows that you have room to grow. You will have atleast 3 annuals to improve at least before your first look for E7.Response by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made Feb 19 at 2014 12:32 PM2014-02-19T12:32:39-05:002014-02-19T12:32:39-05:001SG Frank Rocha60355<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>no thats very good in fact. what gave you the impression it might be negative?<br>Response by 1SG Frank Rocha made Feb 19 at 2014 12:33 PM2014-02-19T12:33:21-05:002014-02-19T12:33:21-05:00SSG Private RallyPoint Member60356<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Not at all, as your first SSG NCOER it can truly be hard to score a successful 1/1 or 2/1. Fully capable is saying you are the right fit for the job. This gives you a great building block for future NCOERs, and can really help you grow in the job. It should have came with some advice for where you can grow and apply yourself more.Response by SSG Private RallyPoint Member made Feb 19 at 2014 12:34 PM2014-02-19T12:34:36-05:002014-02-19T12:34:36-05:00SGM Private RallyPoint Member60360<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Not at all. Too many NCOs get wrapped around the numbers. Everyone wants to be a 1/1 but a 2/2 is still an acceptable NCOER.<br><br>You need to focus more on the bullets instead of the numbers. Having quality bullets that explain your success with numbers is a lot better than the numbers at the bottom. I got a 3/2 NCOER for my very first NCOER and it was like getting punched in the stomach. My rater explained it was my first NCOER and I still had a lot of growing and learning to do. Needless to say I have improved on every NCOER and it shows.<br><br>Write down your goals and get after them. I bet there are tons of things that need to be improved in your AO. Get to work on them and make your little piece of the world better. Do that and you will have awesome NCOERs with valid quantifiable bullets to back everything up.Response by SGM Private RallyPoint Member made Feb 19 at 2014 12:40 PM2014-02-19T12:40:22-05:002014-02-19T12:40:22-05:00SFC Private RallyPoint Member60603<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>No. On my first NCOER my 1SG was my rater and he gave me a 2/2 as well. He could see the disappointment on my face and said "I know you have worked your butt off for this unit for the last 12 months. But, if I gave you a 1/1 where do you have room for improvement?" My first NCOER as an E-6 was while working in an E-7 position (for six months) and I got a 2/2 as well.<div><br></div><div>It is more important to have quality, substantiated bullets.</div><div><br></div><div>BTW I was selected for E-7 with 11 years of service and on my first look. I know the board saw the NCOER with a 2/2. But, I also know they saw the NCOERs that came after that showed I was succeeding and improving.</div><div><br></div><div>My suggestion is don't worry too much about this NCOER and start looking at your next one. When you do your next initial/quarterly counseling ask your Rater "What do I need to do to get a 1/1 on my next NCOER?" Put it on the support form and then both of you know what it is that needs to get done in order to get a 1/1.</div>Response by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made Feb 19 at 2014 8:11 PM2014-02-19T20:11:41-05:002014-02-19T20:11:41-05:00SSgt Private RallyPoint Member60604<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>2/2 is my birthday. Look to reinforce your strengths and fix your deficits and you will see improvement on the next NCOER<br /> That's what promotion boards want to see is progress.Response by 1SG Michael Blount made Mar 1 at 2014 3:58 PM2014-03-01T15:58:16-05:002014-03-01T15:58:16-05:001SG Private RallyPoint Member106530<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I say no and if it wasn't an annual I wouldn't worry about it.<div><br></div>Response by 1SG Private RallyPoint Member made Apr 20 at 2014 8:51 AM2014-04-20T08:51:55-04:002014-04-20T08:51:55-04:00SFC Private RallyPoint Member578723<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Not at all!
