I have been told before that if you had not performed well as a recruiter that a negative recruiting review resulting in you going back to the infantry would not be as detrimental to career progression? Meaning not a great salesman to meet the quota. Short story individual mission is coming back and on last year of detailed assignment and wondering what consequences could come of this. The last two years I have made the equivalent of the quota before being implemented but I know I'm not a great recruiter. If you don't perform well as a recruiter, is a negative review that results in you going back to infantry, detrimental to career progression?2016-09-28T12:59:55-04:00SSG Private RallyPoint Member1929901<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>This question is for Infantrymen that have served as recruiters during the individual mission time frame. If you are a detailed recruiter and not meeting your mission you are counseled, conduct low producer training, get a RT assigned to you, etc. When your three years are complete you are sent back to your MOS and your NCOERs will reflect your performance as a recruiter.Response by CSM Private RallyPoint Member made Sep 28 at 2016 1:06 PM2016-09-28T13:06:43-04:002016-09-28T13:06:43-04:00SFC J Fullerton1930017<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>First of all, just like with everything else in USAREC, it goes full circle. When we tested the "Team Recruiting Concept" (AKA The Marauder Project) in 3rd Bde in 2007, and eventually it went USAREC wide, I predicted that it would eventually fail and it would come full circle back to individual missions. With that said, on to your question. You are 2 years into your 3 year detailed tour. You are not going on the New Recruiter Program. The NRP was supposedly the means to track a new recruiter's development on a max 9 month probationary basis to train them and determine if they had the ability to be effective recruiters. They were not rated while on the NRP. If they failed, they were sent back to their MOS without any adverse repercussion. However, rarely was anyone ever sent back because they were a "poor salesman". There are no salesmen in recruiting. There are Non Commissioned Officers who can effectively communicate and motivate others, with a mission first work ethic, and a positive attitude. You are still a team even with an individual mission, so as long as you pull your weight and do the right things, you can still make mission. With Team Recruiting, you may never have had to develop the communication skills (you can call them sales skills if you want) to conduct interviews, handle objections, and close for a commitment. Better start working on that, and it begins with confidence in yourself. You are not going to get sent back to the Infantry with only a year unless it is disciplinary. Your NCOER will reflect your overall performance, not just the numbers you put in. So, if you do all the right things, you will be fine and you will get a decent NCOER, whether you make mission every month or not.Response by SFC J Fullerton made Sep 28 at 2016 1:56 PM2016-09-28T13:56:08-04:002016-09-28T13:56:08-04:00SSG Private RallyPoint Member1930712<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Im a detailed recruiter right now, for your first 6 mos to 1 yrs they arent going to do anything, because they know its a big difference going from the line to recruiting. If dont do anything after that they may look to do that, but you would have to literally not work and be lazy all tue time to not put a single person in.Response by SSG Private RallyPoint Member made Sep 28 at 2016 6:30 PM2016-09-28T18:30:14-04:002016-09-28T18:30:14-04:00SSG Private RallyPoint Member1930717<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Srry didnt read the whole thing, i seriously doubt it.Response by SSG Private RallyPoint Member made Sep 28 at 2016 6:31 PM2016-09-28T18:31:28-04:002016-09-28T18:31:28-04:00SFC Private RallyPoint Member1931324<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>You would get a relief for cause NCOER thus resulting in being on the chopping block for QMPResponse by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made Sep 28 at 2016 9:56 PM2016-09-28T21:56:53-04:002016-09-28T21:56:53-04:001LT Private RallyPoint Member1932669<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>You won't be evaluated on your numbers, per se. You can only be evaluated on your performance and potential as a detailed recruiter. Try your hardest, document your work and you will be fine. Know your regs, recruiting is cutthroat and they will try to screw you, details are always the outsiders and for the most part treated like glorified privates and second class citizens. Best pcs so far was out of that command.Response by 1LT Private RallyPoint Member made Sep 29 at 2016 11:51 AM2016-09-29T11:51:00-04:002016-09-29T11:51:00-04:00SFC Jim Kusinski1966523<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>The individual mission is not coming back as far as I know.Response by SFC Jim Kusinski made Oct 11 at 2016 7:03 PM2016-10-11T19:03:41-04:002016-10-11T19:03:41-04:00SPC Private RallyPoint Member2030320<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Its not to bad to be back as an infantrymanResponse by SPC Private RallyPoint Member made Nov 1 at 2016 11:12 AM2016-11-01T11:12:03-04:002016-11-01T11:12:03-04:00SPC Private RallyPoint Member2030321<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Its not to bad to be back as an infantrymanResponse by SPC Private RallyPoint Member made Nov 1 at 2016 11:12 AM2016-11-01T11:12:04-04:002016-11-01T11:12:04-04:002016-09-28T12:59:55-04:00
