Yes and no. The reasons I joined the military and stayed have constantly changed. I just got off orders and need a break. Continuous active duty puts a group of stressors on people that most have trouble dealing with. About 6 months a year with breaks seems to work best for me...;)

I got out a few months ago and my answer now is the same as it was before I left: No thanks. I spent 9 years in, did my bit for king and country, did what I wanted to do and I was ready to go. Most of my time in I was also overworked, perpetually tired(because sleep is for the weak, apparently), and stressed out.

I'd glad I did what I did but I'm also happy to be done and moving on with my life.

That would begin when I was 18, then I wouldn't have been shot in my eye, but that would also mean my whole life would have been different, better? I don't know. When I retired it took about two years to get it out of my system. I wouldn't volunteer to go back, but if I was recalled, yea I would.

I had a 5-year break in service from 2004 - 2009 and it turned out to not be the best decision I had ever made. If I knew then what I know now, I would've sucked it up and stayed in. I am grateful to have the opportunities now that the military provides.

Yes, in a heartbeat! I loved my job on active duty, helping people solve their computer problems/issues and maintaining user accounts and server administration. Easiest job I ever did with satisfaction and great pay/benefits. :)

Considering I was med boarded for something that isn't really an issue probably not. The entire process I was trying to volunteer for mos's that you either don't need deployed or typically don't but the Army was hearing none of it.
If they called and said they wanted my back they would have to meet the following stipulations:
1) Promotion to E-6, with back pay to my date of discharge.
2) Choice of mos
3) Choice of duty station
4) min 50,000 non taxable bonus
5) No drop in disability rating- raise only.
6) VA compensation to be put in a hold status- I'm not waiting 45 days to get paid this time.

If the Army can meet those stipulations I'd sign for 4-6 years.
