I left Active Duty for my reasons, family, position, future, etc... I really enjoyed my time, but had a difficult transition. At this point in time, I feel like I've arrived. My experience and training is very valued in the Army National Guard, I have multiple civilian positions open to me, I'm certified to teach through Troops to Teachers and I'm looking at becoming a Veterans' Advocate.<br /><br />Had I stayed Active Duty, I would have none of my hard-earned experience, would still be at stage one with the Guard, or be facing a mandatory removal from Active Duty because there were too many Captains in my year group. Additionally, if I were return to Active Duty, I would be taken out of FA and made a functional area Officer, needs of the Army.<br /><br />It would need to be a select set circumstances for me to return Active Duty, and most importantly, the Army now is not the Army I left from.Response by CPT Private RallyPoint Member made Aug 29 at 2015 11:14 AM2015-08-29T11:14:50-04:002015-08-29T11:14:50-04:00SFC Ron Chelsy928544<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I would absolutely go back on AD.Response by SFC Ron Chelsy made Aug 30 at 2015 3:51 PM2015-08-30T15:51:52-04:002015-08-30T15:51:52-04:00SPC Scott Paddock957013<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>For a combat arms role or intel slot, YES.Response by SPC Scott Paddock made Sep 10 at 2015 6:07 PM2015-09-10T18:07:01-04:002015-09-10T18:07:01-04:00PO2 Private RallyPoint Member963211<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I wish I could return to Iraq all the time.
