If you could serve in any unit what would it be? P.S. A co, Ft. Living Room doesn't count

I got the honor of serving in the Big Red One. I knew of the movie behind it, but when I got to Riley it was more than the movie, and I wish I could go back and do it again. 1st Devil BDE, 1st Infantry Division. What or where would you serve?

I have served with the 101st Airborne and the 10th Mtn. I would be honored to serve with either one again if given the opportunity.

Probably the one thing no one expects anyone to say, but I'd like to go back to TRADOC. There was an actual sense of accomplishment there. Being in a combat unit that isn't deployed feels like being in a hamster wheel...

One of the best duty stations that I ever had was with the 8th ID which later turned into 1st Armor Div., 5/3 ADA in Wackernheim Germany. The unit that I was assigned to was an AMF(L) unit which was under NATO command. We were given the opportunity to train with the other NATO units. It was an Awesome time!

SSG Warren Swan Back in the late 80's (I don't know if this is still true) SEALs used to come around during boot and ask if anyone wanted to see if we could qualify. I decided to and passed the swimming, running, pushups/situps test...but failed the hanging pullups (I was a healthy 220 at the time and would have required prior training to be able to pass that). I've always wondered 'what-if'. So my answer? SEALs.

Although it is long gone, I would go back to serve in the 8th Reconnaissance Technical Squadron (8th RTS) anytime.

109th transportation company, Fort Richardson Alaska.
Reason: I am an 88M, that was the only place (unit) that I actually learned all about my job and mastered my skills in heavy truck transportation and actually drove most of the time.
