Nothing...I prepare for the future by trying to eat right, save and invest, make plans for my family but really don't want to know what tomorrow brings as it is in God's hands what happens to me.

Well, the question doesn't ask what you want to ask - if we fast forward a year, 2023 will be over and we will be in 2024, therefore we would already know everything about 2023. But answering the intent of the question....

Nothing. I don't take pictures, because those dwell on the past. I don't seek soothsayers, because that dwells on the future. I plan for tomorrow, but I live for today. And I plan very broadly and vaguely, with very little defined, so that I can take life as it comes.

At the end of 2023, I would like to see our politicians come together and execute plans that are in the best interest of all the citizens of the United States. A President that bought into the process and reduced his rhetoric for positive action for the citizens of the United States. At the end of the year, I would like to see those plans effective, with a probability of success of 98 percent. In viewing 2023 in the rearview mirror I would like to see Russia fail, Iran was overthrown by the people for the people of Iran, China decided to be friends with the world, and generally the world at peace. In that same mirror research that produced improved health for U.S. Citizens.

In that rearview mirror seeing our military execute training for military preparedness leaving the woke as bad history of the past.

There is more but I don't want to make this into a book. Make it a happy new year for all of Rally Point and their families.

Will the VA finally, actually acknowledge that I developed sleep apnea in service in the mid-1980's, before it was a recognized disability? Will the VA claims examiners learn anatomy & physiology and learn how existing in-service injuries lead to other problems, and increase VA disability compensation based upon those supplemental claims? All of the needed evidence exists in my medical records, but the VA claims examiners arent educated enough to recognize it, or they are intentionally ignoring it.

What I want to know is that the spot on my recent annual cancer scan is just simply a scarring instead of a new cancer growth. THe Christmas and New Year holidays were a bit tense due to the news of the "spot". As an eight year survivor, each scan is filled with anxiety and I need a little peace of mind. Otherwise, I have to wait until March for the next scan and then every trhee months after for the next two years.

Personal issues in my life last year weren't working out and to top it off ended with a blood clot behind my left knee! Beginning of the year started off even worst and they found another blood clot! So, if I could fast forward the year I'd like to see that I found the strength to deal with my personal issues and move on and get myself in shape to help get rid of the chances for the blood clots to come back!

If I could fast forward for a year, I would want to know about the status of the war between Russia and the Ukraine. I am curious to know whether or not Vladimir Putin remains as the President of Russia after essentially tricking his citizenry into participating in the reckless invasion of Ukraine. I would not be surprised if, upon losing the war, a coup takes place and he is forced to surrender his iron-grip on Russia. Even though the odds of this happening are far from certain, such an occurrence would present the opportunity for a new relationship between the U.S. and Russia - possibly one that is more diplomatic and cooperative. Antagonisms between the U.S. and Russia have been a source of much anxiety for every generation alive today. Hence, I am very interested in knowing whether there is hope for a fresh start borne out of the unfortunate circumstances occurring in the Ukraine.

Even less greedy I would like to know the winning numbers to a super lotto game that is not shared with any one else. Then I pray that Christ causes a miracle and fixes the damage these doctors did with 2 misplaced valve clips in my heart. the Doctors said they were going to extend my life by 10 years but took ten years instead leaving me about 1/2 year to fit what's left in.

I would like to have my pending disability claim approved. I could finally feel better in my mind and spirit. I could also try to have my daily pain controlled enough to maintain a daily schedule and a more positive outlook in my life in general. I know that I am not by myself in this matter. 2023 could be the year I have a complete understanding of my health in general and therefore I could have a better outlook on my senior years.
I would like to accomplish these things in order to spend as much quality time as possible with my family and grandchildren....After all, isn't this what life is all about "Happy New Year"

Will Donald Trump and his cohorts receive their justice and punishments for what they did 2 years ago? This is NOT a partisan or even a political issue, it's about our Constitution which we all took the oath to defend. It's a historical, ethical and moral issue.
We've had questionable elections before, like when Rutherford won and recently the 2000 and 2004 elections. But Grover Cleveland, Al Gore and John Kerry NEVER whined about 'stopping the steal' and they NEVER advocated or even endorsed a violent coup attempt. That is UN-American. The losers in previous elections and failed reelection bids conceded because they were/are MEN, not egotistical brat kids. And after serving the maximum 8 years (2 terms), previous Presidents exited the White House when their time was up. That's what our Presidency and government is all about, not a dictatorship.

I'd like to know what my health and financial situation will look like in the future. Then, I would feel a little more comfortable about spending money. I'd also like to know if family divisions will be resolved or healed in the year ahead. It would be wonderful if I knew how much my son and daughter would travel to visit me. I have worked and paid into Social Security before, during and after Military life and there is talk about cuts in the Social Security program as well as cuts in Veteran benefits. Why our government is so intent on helping a government such as Ukraine with billions of dollars and military equipment (I agree we need to give them some support) when our own country is in the middle of a “recession “ and people are having to choose between medication and food. Why are we closing so many important overseas military bases when there will more than likely be some type of very large “skirmish” or war and those bases have not been kept up thus non useable without tons of money being put into them. It seems out government is focusing on one problem “Russia vs Ukraine” when we need to be ourselves preparing for the possibility of someone turning on us. We currently have many more enemies than ever before. Why is the government not concerned about this?

Seeing all the vitriol in our country and in the world the last several years--and in some responses to this site--I would love to see racial issues, social and political division, immoral and hateful behavior, health crises, and environmental problems miraculously subside in the next year. Wouldn't that be amazing? We're not in Heaven yet, and evil pervades our existence here. But we don't have to allow evil to control us. We have choices, and we can choose to be kind, friendly, helpful, generous, forgiving, truthful, loving and happy--all the Scout pledges!. As the world population grows in the next year and beyond, these attributes will be come more and more important to us and whether we decide to choose them for how we live and interact with others. I have to confess that I was once an E-1 recruit, but wore the Army uniform 32 years with some success and some tough times, and retired with life-threatening health issues. Thankfully, the VA and a wonderful wife have taken great care of me, and I'm still here and blessed in my 80s. A few days ago I was grocery shopping and wore an army sweatshirt, when a whole family there stopped me to ask about my service and thank me for it. We smiled, laughed, encouraged and blessed each other, and soon other shoppers joined us. It was a fine, unexpected experience that I won't forget, and I hope you will have many like it, too. So one more thing I would like to see in 2023: Some camaraderie and mutual respect among people in and out of uniform, love of country and pride in serving those who need us.

If I could fast-forward a year it would be interesting to know where the military will be in terms of engagement and/or support of other countries. I would love to see our soldiers have time to be with their families and recharge the way things are currently.

I'd like to know if our current White House resident will remain in office and will the Republican House be able to curb the excessive spending that is causing so much inflation and excessive hardship for all lower income people. Also what effect will the Twitter revelations that are expensing the corruption of the FBI at the direction of the White House have and will we have a collapse of our economy. I'd like to know if the proposed changes to our monetary system to a digital currency will be legislated to forbid financial control of the people and what effects it will have on world economy. I'd like to know how the proven and provable Biden corruption will be handled and if there will be prosecution of Fauci et al? Also has Russia be able to destroy all the secretly US funded bioweapons labs in Ukraine?

As a person starting my own brewery after being a brewer in the civilian world, knowing economic shifts for 2023. When you're buying many thousands of dollars of equipment, it's go to know about whether to wait if there's going to be better market conditions that will save money initially, and get better loan rates. That's all that really affects me most that I can't deal with myself; everything else isn't anything new.

Well, and maybe if I get knee surgery and if it does any good.

Wow. I can think of SEVERAL things but I’ll list five.

1. What job will I get after completing my medical coding and billing course?
2. When will I receive an update on my disability claim?
3. Will the update on my disability claim be 100%?
4. Where will I go for my birthday this year?
5. When and what motorcycle will I purchase?

If I could fast forward a year I'd want to know that I should be enrolled in as many courses as possible through all available semesters and should've gotten taken the opportunity to weld. I also would've wanted to know that I should've paid all covid forbearance asap to prevent foreclosure bc help didn't actually exist or come through.

I received West Nile Virus in August of 2012 from a mosquito bite. The combination of encephalitis and meningitis resulted in loosing my hearing in my right ear and lost my balance such that I now need a cane to walk. Here is my summary of my previous year on January 1, 2024:

Last year I went to Panama to receive a STEM cell infusion which, after much research, was provided by a company known to provide such a medical procedure. I did recover my ability to walk normally, which to me was the one thing I really did want to happen. Because I could walk, I was able to run again, which meant I just completed my 41st year of training and participating in triathlons and other multi-sport races.
