I was interested in joining the Navy as Cryptolinguist, unfortunately one of my tattoos was in a place that the Navy didn't like. Ended up talking to a ANG recruiter and...the rest is history!

There is a reason I did 20 years, I loved my job while I was in the Navy. I like what I do now as an Army contractor too. But, given the choice I would still be in the Navy. I would not make the body fat measurements anymore, but could still pass the old PT Test.

I'd definitely enlist within the AF, but it would be a different job. I'd much prefer to be more involved in the mission.

I learned many valuable lessons in the Navy that I probably would not have been exposed to had I not enlisted. The Navy (military) has changed significantly in the past 25 years; however, the more things change, the more they stay the same.

While I would certainly enlist, and probably stay Navy- assumingI got to keep the knowledge that I have now of how the recruitment process works, I may have slowed down and waited out a job that I actually wanted, because cross-rating is a nightmare.

You would need to be sure of what you wanted and ensure this is really what you get. The grass always looks greener on the other side however not so. Just look at what you have, what are you looking for pro and cons then decide

I would stay in the Navy. The only thing I would hope to change is to not have to end my career at 18 years due to illness/injuries from deployment.

I hit the wrong button there. I would absolutely join again, and it would definitely be the Navy, Active from the start, not the Reserves. That was mostly a waste of my time.

I'd only change may last duty station. SIMA Mayport was my downfall. Small, little cliquish command & if the Legal Officer didn't like you (she was a Chief, and despised me) you were screwed.

Tough question, would I want to go back in time and have to relive a time in my life where so many good men died all over again plus experience all of my splinters and scratches. I'd only make 2 changes. 1) Enlist right out of high school. 2) Avoid SIMA Mayport. It was the most corrupt, spiteful, organization I ever been in. It would be great allies with Killary & the 0vomit administration. Ever they disliked was brought up on the most ridiculous and minute chargers and kicked out .

It was a fantastic 8 years, E6 and 9 medaks. I should have applied for OCS earlier or the Nuse Corps. HM would have been a more marketable rating than CTI.

Young people ask me this question all the time. I've had many great adventures in Army and would not change a thing. However, having the opportunity to drill with an Ait Force Reserve medical unit the last 5 years was tempting. My dad used to say the grass is always greener on the other side because it is fertilized with BS.
