If my brigade is closing, is there a good chance i could request a specific duty station?

If my brigade is closing, is there a good chance i could request a specific duty station? Or would it be better to just wait and come down on an assignment? I've been at my current duty station for 4 years now.

With the Brigades closing, many Soldiers will be absorbed into existing units and others will be PCS'd. If there is a duty station that you want to get moved to, your best bet is to contact your branch manager and discuss it with them. There is no guarantee they will send you there, but they are a good start. If you know someone at the unit you want to go to, you can talk with them and see if they can get their chain of command to request you also...this may help in combination with branch.

You should contact your retention NCO and see what opportunities are out there for your MOS. You have plenty of time on station and a PCS could be a good option for you.
