The people trying to create problems cannot pull the trigger, other people see that inaction as creating an opportunity to invest in America’s prosperity? LTC Stephen C. LTC Stephen F. LTC (Join to see)

Because the Democrats and Wall Street know that the president won't be removed. When there is certainty in the market, the market responds. Nancy Pelosi has backed yourself into a corner and there's much multiple documentation that the Democrats wanted to impeach President Trump way before the July phone calls the Ukraine that enabled the excuse for a scam impeachment. Now the Democrats are taking credit for the new North American Free Trade Agreement and passing a budget because they are caught with their pants down focus on impeachment instead of legislating and they are now realizing that President Trump can say 'what have the Democrats done for the last three years?'

Got to stop that spending, unless it’s government spending. As noted scholar, Fritz Hollings once said, “There’s too much spending going on out there”, in his best imitation of Foghorn Leghorn voice.

impeachment is not necessarily a bad thing, except to the person being impeached. the stock market goes in cycles. there are ups and downs, highs and lows. most presidents had a record high in the stock market during their term(s).

The stock market want stability and they can see that President Trump is not going to be removed and for all we know, Nancy Pelosi may decide not to pursue the impeachment in the Senate as long as we don't have a trade war with China and now that the country has a budget finally signed and President Trump is going to sign the new version of NASA that I can't recall to moment, things will be taking off that Democrats can't take credit for either! Nice try, Nancy! Maybe she should take stuttering classes because she was sure stuttering a lot yesterday. It's funny when she didn't want to talk anymore about impeachment but she wanted to take questions about an agreement she had very little to do with.

The impeachment is nothing more than a failed process to reduce President Trump's "stock", so that the Democratic Presidential hopefuls become more appealing. Interestingly, this process appears to be mutually exclusive to President Trump's actual work and policies.

@Hayden, weird isn't it? Could it be that the market kniw it's all a farce and ridiculous and they all no it's never going to get the vote needed from the Senate?

The markets are knee-jerk reactionary by nature. They crave stability as stability is about as close to predictability as you can get in the short-term. There was little ambiguity about how the House impeachment proceedings would play out, and there is little ambiguity about how the Senate trial will play out; the only thing in flux right now is the timing. Therefore, the markets don't really have much to react to regarding the impeachment, thus the current performance of the market is reacting to other things.

I think for two reasons. Satisfaction in our economy is very good, and lower corporate taxes will drive stock buy backs.

i'd rather have lower personal taxes for my wife and me. corporations already pay too little of their share

Investors bet on a Clinton-like rally with stocks up 7% since Trump impeachment inquiry began
The S&P 500 is up nearly 7% since House Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced a formal impeachment inquiry into Trump in September.

Please explain to me exactly what Impeachment has to do with the economy? NOTHING. Better yet, what does the stock market have to do with the real economy? NOTHING.

If my dividends and other distributions from my stock portfolio increases, I do spend more money.
