The impeachment is nothing more than a failed process to reduce President Trump's "stock", so that the Democratic Presidential hopefuls become more appealing. Interestingly, this process appears to be mutually exclusive to President Trump's actual work and policies.

impeachment is not necessarily a bad thing, except to the person being impeached. the stock market goes in cycles. there are ups and downs, highs and lows. most presidents had a record high in the stock market during their term(s).

Because the Democrats and Wall Street know that the president won't be removed. When there is certainty in the market, the market responds. Nancy Pelosi has backed yourself into a corner and there's much multiple documentation that the Democrats wanted to impeach President Trump way before the July phone calls the Ukraine that enabled the excuse for a scam impeachment. Now the Democrats are taking credit for the new North American Free Trade Agreement and passing a budget because they are caught with their pants down focus on impeachment instead of legislating and they are now realizing that President Trump can say 'what have the Democrats done for the last three years?'

I think for two reasons. Satisfaction in our economy is very good, and lower corporate taxes will drive stock buy backs.

The markets are knee-jerk reactionary by nature. They crave stability as stability is about as close to predictability as you can get in the short-term. There was little ambiguity about how the House impeachment proceedings would play out, and there is little ambiguity about how the Senate trial will play out; the only thing in flux right now is the timing. Therefore, the markets don't really have much to react to regarding the impeachment, thus the current performance of the market is reacting to other things.
