If I want to join the Air Guard, but can't because I had prior military service in the Israeli army, is there anything I can do about it?

I'm trying to join the Air Guard in Nevada, I have dual citizenship (American and Israeli), I have no problem to revoke my Israeli citizenship in order to join the Air Guard, but I told that I can't join because I had prior military service in the Israeli army, anything I can do about it?
I mean, I already willing to revoke my Israeli citizenship and own solely American citizenship, why isn't that enough?
Any thoughts ? Thanks

I am not sure about the Israeli Army, I have had Soldiers from the Italian and German Army’s serve with me. Check with a recruiter.

I'm not 100% sure, but if I recall correctly - having read somewhere during filling out paperwork for getting a security clearance - I believe it's that those who are/were Israeli citizens or have married an Israeli citizen are not applicable for a security clearance. If the slots that particular Air Guard recruiter has all require security clearances, you might be SOL.

I could be wrong though, as I'm not 100% sure.

Shalom brother! Well it seems to me that is an Air Guard thing because I see some Army rank on you. My advice is simply to go Army Guard as well.

I went through RASP with an IDF Veteran. He graduated, but was eventually RFSed because his clearance never went through. I saw him in the big army later.

Go Army Guard.

To my recollection...anything Air Guard is going to require a security clearance. Period. I was in the Air Guard for 1.5 years and I was told that you need a clearance to join anything USAF (AD, Guard & Reserve).

If you're not opposed to considering another branch....I say consider that you might have to go another route.

I don't know about reserves or guard, but the bars on foreign enlistment are usually listed by the services, based on nationality and prior service. I wouldn't think Israel falls in the forbidden zone, but not sure. I once had a former Canadian Army Capt. try to get back in. Good luck.

Re check with the recruiter. Hell I even had a American who served a hitch with the FFL, best damn SL around!

It may be an Air Force thing, but I know I served with a former IDF member while in the Army.
I had no idea until we were in the field and talking. Not only had she been in the IDF, but was an officer in the IDF and had a Masters Degree.
