That leaves me with 16 months)? I was thinking about converting from HM to 92Y. Also, the retention/HYT/TIS is all the same across the board right? <br /><br />I have talked to a couple recruiters about this, but I want to see what you guys think. If I transition into the Army with 8 years in the Navy will I be advanced in time (before my retention date)?2020-02-07T06:58:33-05:00PO3 Private RallyPoint Member5530409<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>If I join the Army after serving in the Navy for 8 years (an e4) what is the likelyhood I will be advanced before my retention date (10 years. So, you would need an exception to policy. The Army isn't going to enlist you for only 2 years, 3 is more realistic. Three years is plenty of time to advance in a critical shortage MOS. You probably won't get 92Y because it's not a shortage MOS. The Army already has to make an exception to access you and if they put you in a non critical shortage MOS there is no guarantee you would make the next rank in time. You'll be limited to whatever they're offering that day.Response by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made Feb 7 at 2020 11:39 AM2020-02-07T11:39:48-05:002020-02-07T11:39:48-05:00SSG Private RallyPoint Member5604354<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Business Rules will apply to your transition and you most likely will not be given the option not to be a Combat Medic as we are currently under strength at the moment.Response by SSG Private RallyPoint Member made Feb 26 at 2020 10:58 PM2020-02-26T22:58:46-05:002020-02-26T22:58:46-05:002020-02-07T06:58:33-05:00
