HRC told me I'll have to serve the whole tour with no leave. Is there anyway I can fight this?If I take an assignment to Korea with only a year until I ETS, will I lose my terminal leave?2018-06-26T11:31:52-04:00SPC Private RallyPoint Member3744097<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>So I'm on assignment to korea this coming December. I'm not sure why they told you that. Or were they referring to Terminal Leave?Response by SSG Private RallyPoint Member made Jun 26 at 2018 1:59 PM2018-06-26T13:59:36-04:002018-06-26T13:59:36-04:00SGT Chris Stephens3744729<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I extended for an extra year in Korea since I had two years left on my contract when I got there for my one-year assignment. Not only did I take 30 days of leave in the middle of my tour, but I took my remaining 57 days on the tail end of it. There should be nothing preventing you from taking your leave. There's no regulation that states what HRC told you.Response by SGT Chris Stephens made Jun 26 at 2018 2:50 PM2018-06-26T14:50:24-04:002018-06-26T14:50:24-04:00SGM Bill Frazer3745542<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>How can they restrict leave- you earned it and have to take it cause you will lose it if you go over days.Response by SGM Bill Frazer made Jun 26 at 2018 8:00 PM2018-06-26T20:00:26-04:002018-06-26T20:00:26-04:00SGM Private RallyPoint Member3745623<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>No you will not lose your transitional leave, there are many Soldiers who ETS from Korea and take their transitional leave.Response by SGM Private RallyPoint Member made Jun 26 at 2018 8:29 PM2018-06-26T20:29:13-04:002018-06-26T20:29:13-04:00SFC Private RallyPoint Member3745638<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>You will have to have time remaining after you serve your 1 year tour in order to take the leave. Also you are allowed to take leave while you’re on the 1 year tour to Korea. I took 30days leave when I was stationed in Korea and I did not have to extend my 12 month tour. I hope this helps...Good LuckResponse by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made Jun 26 at 2018 8:37 PM2018-06-26T20:37:52-04:002018-06-26T20:37:52-04:00SSG Kristell Lee3745982<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>You can have your leave. The only way you can't is if you get a bad chapter. Your unit will most likely let you take your leave from there. Enjoy Korea. Some of them take leave 2 times in that year. 1 time in winter for Christmas leave and the next in the summer. Your terminal leave you will always be authorized. Korea is just another assignment just as if you were getting out of the army from a CONUS assignment. I think they were telling you to serve your whole time without leave so that you accumulate more leave to be able to take for terminal leave (i.e. taking like 30 days terminal leave or however much).Response by SSG Private RallyPoint Member made Jun 27 at 2018 1:51 AM2018-06-27T01:51:27-04:002018-06-27T01:51:27-04:00PV2 Private RallyPoint Member3781071<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>We have people ets from here all the time.
